There are plenty of things to do in Yackandandah and surrounds in North East Victoria. Here are just a few:
Bush Walking – Next to Yackandandah Town is the Stanley State Forest with great walks along the fire trails and the chance to cool off in the creeks.
Town Walks – For visitors who want to stretch their legs there are the gentler town walks to the Gorge walk, Town walk and the Lions walk.
Mountain Bike Riding – “Yack Tracks” over 50 kilometres of flowing single track through the Stanley State Forest.
Rail trails – For a gentler bike ride close to Yackandandah there’s the High Country Rail Trail, Regional Parklands ride and the Murray to the Mountains.
Fishing – anglers can cast their lines in the many creeks, rivers, water holes and Hume Dam.
Goldmining tours – Karr’s Reef Goldmine
Wineries – Yackandandah is surrounded by award winning wineries of Beechworth, Milawa, Rutherglen, Bright, Myrtleford, King and Kiewa Valleys.
Eating out – Star hotel, Yackandandah Hotel, Grace’s Place (Thai food), Java Café, Rusty Bike Café, Saint Monday, Gumtree Pies and Beechworth Bakery.
Folk Festival – The middle of March is folk festival time in Yackandandah.
Country Music - Every Wednesday night is music jam session at the Yackandandah Star hotel.
